A qualified teacher, assessor and mentor with a passion for teaching and Co-Founder of Essential Teaching UK. Gavin is proud to have over a decade of experience in providing engaging, dynamic, inspirational education and training.
Delivering initial teaching qualifications for more than 10 years, working within further education colleges, the community, commercial and charitable organisations, the armed and uniformed services, and other public sector organisations.
Gavin has a Bachelors Degree in Education (Honours), holds Qualified Teacher Learning & Skills (QTLS) and is a Member of the Society of Education and Training.
Louise manages the head office, coordinating staff, course material and resources ensuring our learners needs are fully met.
Louise has a teaching and business background and Co-Founder of Essential Teaching UK. She is an experienced HTLA and has worked in a variety of educational setting from EYFS through to key stage 4 including targeted support, inclusion, behaviour management and gifted & talented provision. She often combines her teaching and business experience when developing future courses.
Initially trained as a Fabricator & Welder and then Naval Architect working in a Hull Design Drawing Office Stephen moved into education and training in 1982.
Stephen is an experienced teacher and lecturer having worked in 11-19 education for more than 30 years. He has held a range of Senior Management posts in schools and colleges including Head of Teaching & Learning 14-19; Head of Student Support Division; 14-19 Consortium Manager; Innovation and Development Manager. Stephen is a qualified teacher Cert Ed, BEd, MBA, MSc (Education & Training Management)
Initially trained in the Royal Air Force as a Telecommunications Operator Gillian moved into Education and Training in 2001 after a career break to bring up her children.
Gillian is a professionally qualified and experienced course designer/assessor/internal verifier. She has spent more than 15 years working in the Defence and Education Sectors where she has trained students/trainers and assessors.
Gillian teaches on Essential Teaching UK’s assessing and internal verification courses ensuring her own high standards and knowledge of quality assurance is passed on to her learners to enhance their teaching experience.
Holly has over ten years experience within the education sector and has worked within a range of educational establishments from Primary to FE.
She has held a number of roles from assessor, IQA, teacher and manager and is currently the Director of Adult Education & Apprenticeships at Portsmouth College. Holly has extensive experience of teaching and how to ensure quality.
Holly is a qualified teacher (QTS) with a Masters in Education, and holds the Lead Internal Quality Assurer and Assessors qualifications.
William (Billy) Ralston BSc PGCE MBA, is a professionally qualified and experienced teacher in both Secondary and Further Education.>
He spent more than 16 years as a Royal Navy Engineering Training Management Officer where he trained Defence trainers and assessors.
He designed and delivered coaching and leadership courses to nationally recognised standards. He also had direct involvement in the acquisition of training and education equipment across all Defence Lines of Development. Billy has been a "Key Customer" for a number of outsourced Defence training contracts.
