Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement
This qualification is intended for those who assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in a workshop, classroom or other training environment rather than assessing competence in a work environment. It includes the following assessment methods (although not all of these require performance evidence):
- assessments of the learner in simulated environments
- skills tests
- oral and written questions
- assignments
- projects
- case studies
- recognising prior learning
Learning Objectives & Assessment
The course is made up of two core modules:
- Module One - Understanding the principles and practices of assessment
- Module Two - Assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding
Learners must achieve 9 credits from two mandatory units to be awarded the TQUK Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (QCF).
The qualification is assessed through a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates the learner has met the required assessment criteria. All learners are expected to prove both their theoretical and practical knowledge within their portfolio of evidence and 2hrs Assessing Observations.
Entry requirements
Learners must be at least 18 years of age at certification There are no specific entry requirements, however learners should have a minimum of level two in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

Enrolment
The course is designed to give you the confidence and competence carry out effective assessments in the classroom and training environment. This will include selecting and designing the appropriate assessments for the situation, carrying out valid and reliable assessments and providing constructive feedback to learners.
Certification
Learners will achieve the nationally recognised QCF approved Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocational Achievement.
On successful completion of the course learners will understand the different types of assessment and how effective assessing is vital in guiding learners through the learning pathway.

Successful learners can progress to other assessing and verifying qualifications such as:

- Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice
